This is a beautiful piece with clematis flowers painted on the paulownia wood box.
By rounding the corners of the box, the thin board is bent and inlaid, and the pattern that continues to the sides expresses softness.
Although it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, this chest of drawers is made in a way that is unique to Kyoto joinery.

桐箱に描かれているクレマチスの花が大変美しい逸品です。
箱の角を丸めることによって、薄板を曲げながら象嵌が施されており、側面まで続いている模様が柔らかさを表現しています。
両手のひらに収まる小さいサイズですが、京指物ならではのタンスの作り方です。
